  1. Mr. Sam, Can you please tell me how to get those .ora files..I did exactly
    what you have done and looks like i don’t have those .ora file in my
    network folder under dbhome. Is there any way i can download those files
    only and then copy and past them to the folder where necessary? By the way,
    your tutorial is awesome.!!

    if ur getting dis error do this

    first download oracle sl developer and oracle 11g express edition from
    oracle website
    2) if ur getting java path error dont b panic just download jdk kit from
    oracle website itself

    3) extract both oracle sl developer and oracle 11g experss edition in a
    folder

    4) install oracle 11g express edition and follow the step by step procedure
    of installation and wen it say type ur password type da password which u
    can remember bcox ur going to use the same password while connecting to
    oracle sl developer k
    5) install oracle sl developer now and go to connection ad right clik and
    open new connection .
    6) connection name: just type any name u want
    username:system itss a defautl put dat only if ya installing it in ur
    home pc
    password:same password u have to use wen u installed the oracle 11g
    express edition same password k dont put anything dats it and clik on test
    it will show success dats it and oracle sldeveloper will get connect .hope
    it will b helpul fill free to ask if u get prob but if u follow da
    procedure which i told u u wont get any prob .

    Please tell me what I have to type as username and the password where SAM

    The Sql developer tool whilw testing the connection says invalid
    username/password. I don’t remember my credentials now. How can i fix this
    issue?

    database i got error of Ora-01033- oracle initialization or shut down in

  10. Try this: Username: SYSTEM (make sure to use all caps) PW: The pw you
    created when installing the server Choose connection type: Basic Role:
    Default Hostname: localhost Port:1521 SID: ORCL (all caps) Try this and

  15. Dear Sam.. I followed all the steps as mentioned by you and installed
    oracle 11g first which completed fine. Then after i installed the SQL
    Developer and was creating a “New Connection”, the following error is
    coming: Status: Failure: Test Failed: ORA 010117: invalid
    username/password; login denied”. I gave the Connection Type and Network
    Alias correctly, but still facing this issue. Can you please help?

  22. Hi Sam, Nice work you had put up here. Very helpful. Got a question. I
    installed oracle 12c. however, the TNSname.ora did not get created.
    C:appUserproduct12.1.0dbhome_1NETWORKADMIN has only a sample folder
    and sqlnet.ora file. That’s it. no TNSname.ora or other files as shown on
    your screen are available. Do you know what might have gone wrong?

  23. hello Sir, i installed oracle SQl developer on windows 7 home premium and
    jdk1.6.0_45. i get the error network adaptor could not establish the
    connection. I cannot find the tnsnames.ora file. Where should it be? In the
    tutorial it said the tnsnames.ora is under the
    /product/db_home/network/admin folder. I do not have that when i installed
    it. Can you plz help me
